Hi;
We MSDN Professional subscription, but we did not get VSS 2005, we are using
VS 2005 Professional, we want to upgrade VSS6.0 to VSS2005, do we need to buy
VS Team System, or can we buy VSS2005 seperately?

I've just installed Sourcesafe 2005 and seem to be having problems.. I
opened an existing solution in Visual Studio 2003 and selected 'Add
Solution To Source Control' - this seemed to work fine, and check
in/check out is working okay. However when I go to 'view history'

Maybe I'm missing something or my expectation is just incorrect but
when I heard that there was a source safe web service with 2005 I
thought this is great, I can access my source safe database remotely
over http/s.

Im trying to check in a new project from visual studio to sourcesafe and Im
getting the error shown below. Ive posted the warning and information from
the System event log and a warning from the Application log
I'm practice installing a sourcesafe www database on my local machine ...

Please, can anyone help me figure out what Steps I should take to rectify  
errors on this report. Any assistance will be greatly apprciated. Thanks;

opened the project I also added them to VSS in the same project, but when I
check out a file within VS 2003 IDE I can not see the icon changes in VSS and

I am using VSS 2005 and trying to run a batch file that will get a project
from a remote VSS database then check in / add files to a local VSS
database.
I am using the following steps to accomplish this:

I have 150 defined users in a database and want to add them directly to a new
empty database (including admin). I have copied the \users\<user-n>\ss.ini
structure. What other files should I copy from the old one? (Simple rights
can then easily be added for all the users manually ...

Is VSS 2005 backwards compatible with VSS6?

Recently we switched over from 6.0d to 2005.  I created a new database
and started a new project.  I labeled 3 different versions (1.0, 1.1,
1.2).  When I right-click the project and select show history, I get
the project Options box.  I have Recursive, Include file histories, and

    Iam taking my VSS server 6.0 backup manually,it is very difficult to
take backup of more than 45 database using manaul archive,so some body can
help me out how to set the auto archive in VSS server 6.0.Thanks in advance.

I've been looking for at least 1 week an HOWTO install and configure
SourceSafe 2005 to enable HTTP access and how to enable it in Visual Studio
2003 or 2005.
Does someone got a link to a nice howto method ?

Duh, these commands break long lines at column 88.  No way to take the output
and copy it into another program wihtout a lot of unnecessary editing.

I have an existing VS2005 solution.
I have setup the SS database and chosen a directory in SS2005 administrator.
Then I open my solution i VS2005 and right click on it. From here i choose "add to source control" and this works fine. All functions like check in check out and so on ...

I have a solution with several projects. I use Visual Studio 2005 to check
in/check out of Visual Source Safe.
I received updated files for one of the projects (fron an off-site
consultant). I simply copied the files into the proper project directory.
