Using the parlance from the guidance document, "Team Development with Visual Studio.NET and Visual SourceSafe", I will refer to a collection of solutions and projects as a system. I will refer to the folder in VSS that holds this collections as the system folder.

We're using VS 2005. I hear that VSS 2005 is compatible with VSS 6. That would imply a file sharing approach. Then I hear that it uses an SQL Server backend. Which is it? Is the latter only for Team Editions?

Hi, we have an interesting problem, we are trying to use VSS 6.0d and VS2005 for team development. We found a couple of issues. If programmer A adds a file through the VS2005 IDE, it shows ok in VSS, but when programmer B, does a get Latest (recursive) , he will not see the file
