Understanding Branching etc.31 Oct 2005 10:46 GMT1
Hi, I have been reading the docs and trying to understand how SourceSafe
works, but I have a question. Suppose I have a project called Version1 and I
also have a Version2 project which shares all of the files in Version1. Now
suppose I branch one of the files in Version2. Now I ...
SourceSafe Branching31 Oct 2005 10:42 GMT1
I have shared and branched a project using Visual SourceSafe 6.0.  The
project is a .NET project (C#).
My problem is that if I check out a file from my main project (the trunk)
and then try to check out that same file from my branch project I get an
Any workaround for small, non scrollable dialog boxes31 Oct 2005 10:39 GMT2
The dialogue box that is displayed when file properties->paths is selected is
not big enough to show the full subproject information in our repository.
It does not appear to be scrollable or resizable, has anyone got a simple
workaround ?

Heya,
I am trying to diff specific files from two separate projects.

VSS 2005 Integration with VB6?31 Oct 2005 10:15 GMT3
I just upgraded my system to VSS 2005.  It integrates fine with my
installations of VB 2003 & VB 2005, but it is absent from VB 6.  Has support
for VB 6 been dropped from VSS 2005 or is there a trick to getting it to
integrate with VB 6?  Thank you for you help!

Disabling VS2003 integration31 Oct 2005 09:43 GMT6
I have VSS installed on my laptop.  It is connected to the network only
occasionally.  How do I disable the VS2003 integration so that VS2003
doesn't hang for 5 minutes on startup?  I am quite happy using VSS Explorer.

cost of VSS 2005?!31 Oct 2005 09:26 GMT2
MS doesn't seem to want to respond to me when I ask how much VSS 2005 will
cost... or even if they will sell it... they are kind of playing it off as a
MSDN only thing... which would suck horribly since we are using VSS 6
already and it does have bugs with Visual Studio 2005 for ...

If I open a project that another programmer has written and they have added
external references, the references are invalid on my machine.  I noticed
that the dlls were not in the project folder in Visual Source Safe.  How are
you suppose to handle external references in Visual ...
Differences since a label?27 Oct 2005 13:31 GMT1
Does anyone have a command line for determining the differences in the
database since a given label? For example, if I labeled my database
(recursively) "1.00", I would like to find out if there have been any
checkins since the label "1.00", preferably without having to check out ...

I was wondering if it will be possible to migrate existing
visual source safe databases to vss 2005? Is Visual SS 2005
a standalone program or does one have to install the Team
