How can I reset my lost password for the Admin account to a VSS database?

I'm trying to program an automation task using JScript. Unfortunately I
haven't found a way to access the versions of an item: the VSSVersions object
seems not to publish any methods or properties.
So: How to access the VSSVersion objects of a VSSItem using JScript?

Is the any development for newer version VSS.
Version 6 is 4 years old!

I have a VB6 project with 250 files or so. VSS functions run slow, as it
appears to refresh the file list at any opportunity.
Is there a way to prevent a full refresh of the file list when just checking
a single file in/out?

I am using a C application for checkin, checkout, label, and get
commands. The problem that I have is with *checkout* command. If
destination file is (for any reason) writable (even tough it is still
checked in according to the Source Safe), checkout command doesn’t

I need to know what's the meaning of sharing and branching, and how to use
them. Unfortunaley I haven't found a clear -at least for me- way to
understand it.

I would like to start using the $Log:$ keyword in VSS for .cpp/.h files but
the VSS administrator and other managers are concerned that the new lines
added to each file will substantially increase the size of the already large
(2GB) VSS DB.  The VSS admin runs analyze ...

Has anyone had any problem with different users running 6.0a and 6.0d
against the same VSS database?
And are there any issues upgrading from 6.0a to 6.0d??

We are using VSS6.0 in our project for version controlling since year
2001. We usually check out files to working folder to the client
machine and while check in it will over-write the file in the project

We recently converted our multiple solutions to use enterprise templates and
since then it has been a frustrating battle with VSS integration :(
1) When doing get latest on the solution it doesn't get any changes to
templates. Have to do that in VSS itself for it to get the latest ...

 I am looking for a utility...more specifically a vs.net plugin that
can show me which files i need to get latest of from the VSS.
My project is rather huge and takes a long time if i get latest of the
entire solution.

I am maintaining the VSS for my company. Some of our users(say X) is
getting an error like "unable to open User log file in \\(path name)\data\
loggedin\userid.log. This error, he is getting when he is trying to login
from his system only. Whereas if he goes to some other machine, ...

After a system crash I had to backup all my data and reinstall
