Our sourcesafe database is growing and growing... actually to a size of more
than six GB.
Is it possible to split one database in two or more parts without loosing
any version history ?

I am trying to integrate VSS with a web site. The goal is, any file checked
in into VSS, VSS will copy it to a website right away, say
http://mysite/guestbook .
How do I do this?

I recently ran analyze –v4 and cleaned up several issues per KB article
Q152807.  
When I run analyze –f it reports “Files or Project not found” and
“Potentially serious errors or inconsistencies found.”

When i rename any module i am getting an error File or project not found if i
say ok

Is anyone using VSS in a 3-tiered environment (Development, Staging, and
Production)? If so, how can we set this up (merging, branching, sharing, ...)?
We have 5 developers, so I would like to have the development environment
branched for each developer, and the production ...

I get the following errror

during branching operation on a tree.
I run ANALYZE with option -f and -v4 every night on the Database.

 Can anyone tell me how I am able to add the files from VS.NET, I know I
can choose add solution or add seleted project, but how can I add all
individual files, not the whole project (.sln) file, I want the individual
files....

 I add a .html file into the sourcesafe but when i use FrontPage2000/VS.NET
to view the file, i don't see the "Lock Icon" besides the file name... which
means fails I believe... I have no idea since I am able to check in/out the
file in SourceSafe...

 The reason why I need to create a working folder in my C: drive is because
I will get a local copy of the file everytime when i check out the file then
i make changes to the file and when i check in of the file, the file will be
copied back to the server, am i correct???  i ...

One of our developers has checked out a file, made changes to it, then
checked it back in using the "keep checked out" option.  When the go to check
the file back in again they get a server error.  In order to clear the error
they have to cancel the checkout.  

Precondition:
(a) Make sure you have a file under VSS control, and the file in your
working folder is identical to the file in VSS.  Call this File1(VSS) and
File1(WS).

We had an engineer check a lot of files into a project tree and I would like
to find all files checked in by that engineer either by name or date.  Is
there a way to preform this operation.

Is there a way to implement password controls in VSS. By this I mean having a
minimum password length, password expiry, etc...
Or is it possible can I link authentication into an Active Directory?
