I have just loaded my copy of MS Visual SourceSafe onto my
desktop PC.
Note I have never used this product before.
Three questions:-

I have a vexing problem that I am unable to resolve.  Consider the
following scenerio:
- User1 checks out file (assume file version 5)
- User2 checks out file (also version 5)

I added my current project into SourceSafe, but I am
unhappy where the database is located.
What I would like to do is create a new database (on a
network server) and add my current project to it.

I got MSDN Universal subscription a month ago and have
been using VisualStudio.NET 2003.

When someone deletes a file from SS database, is there a way to delete that
file from local hardrive ?

How to get the file's date?
When I use versions to get the vss file's date, always get the date when
created the version.
But I want to get the file's modified date.

I have been using VSS for a long time, but now each time
I try to start VSS explorer, or any of the VSS utilities
on the server (NT4 sp5) I get a Dr Watson with an access
violation (c00000005) fault.

I would like to be able to branch a project without creating a new project
