setup project and merge modules30 Sep 2003 19:22 GMT1
VSS tries to source control the merge modules found at common files\merge
modules, and as this directory is not below my project directory the vsnet
marks the setup project as an invalid vss bind.
How can I workaround this issue?

Could anyone tell me the differences between VSS 6.0c and
VSS 6.0d?  If I upgrade the server to 6.0d, do I need to
update all VSS clients to 6.0d as well?

Our company has just upgraded our .net environment from 1.0 to 1.1 and also
vstudio to 2003.
After doing this, all developers get the following errors when trying to
open our most common solution:

VSS. When I checkout files from VS solution Explorer these files are checked
out in my project master folder and not in working folder of VSS. How can I

i have been archiving everything every week or so.  when it asks me 'only
archive older than version...?' i have been skipping that field so i can
archive everything.  (& frankly, the versioning of this app is totally

I am using SourceSafe command to download the source
files (SS GET -r -I- -W *).
If I use SourceSafe 6.0c, everything is OK without any
warning message, all files will be downloaded.

I am in the process of exploring the capabilities of VSS. I am now stuck at trying to fidure out a way to provide a link of a particular document on VSS onto a word document. The user may even be promted for a user name and password.
