I've been trying to install Visual Studio 2005 trial on my PC and it blows up when trying to install MDAC 2.81 with an Access Denied message. I've searched using Google and Microsoft Knowledge Base and I haven't found anything that helps me resolve the issue.

I'm trying to install VS .NET 2005 from the MSDN disk to a machine running Vista. During installation, I get an Insert Disk dialog that states: "Setup is looking for file dexplore.exe. Please insert Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition - ENU disk 1 now."

Why do we need to use "SMSWrapper setup\setup.exe ..." to install VS2005 with SMS? Could we use "setup/setup.exe ..." directly ? especialy if SMSWrapper always return the exitcode 1603.

I've followed the directions in the MSDN help on how to change the background color of the help pages, but it doesn't work. I can change the font color, ignore (or not) the page's font size or font, but I cannot change the background color. It appears to be a bug.

Windows XP Pro SP2. After installing Visual Studio .NET 2003 Service Pack 1, my .vbs file association has changed. Double-clicking a .vbs VBScript file now opens the file in Microsoft Development Environment (the VS editor).

I am using Visual studio 2003 Enterprise. I notice that the Server explorer has Crystal Services. If you expand this, it has a node for Crystal Enterprises & Server files. I haven't installed Crystal reports on my system but would like to use it.
