Setting up Microsoft SQL Server to work with VB.NET11 Nov 2003 13:34 GMT1
I got VB.NET Academic, and from what I can tell, you are
able to download Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine to
work as a local host.  I downloaded per instructions, and
tried to get it set up, but I can't get anything.  In the

I have installed VB.NET 2003 on a XP Pro system which
also had VB6 installed on it.
Now, every time I start VB6, I get a message from the
windows installer saying "Preparing to install" - it goes

I'm trying to install VS .Net, particularly the VB elements, but no matter
what i select, i get an error at the end of the process simply saying that
an error occurred. This happens at the end of Stage 2, Stage 1 works fine.
The installlog.txt file contains these lines;

I have tried setting up VS.NET. But the window component
update reports errors while installing .net framework. I
am using Window server 2003 and it is preloaded with .net
framework 1.1. How can I solve this problem?

but in selecting component page, I can not change install direcoty,
it is only installed in "C:\program files\visual studio .net\"direcoty
The "change install directory" button is enable.
