I'm new to Visual Studio... I successfully installed VS and I've tried starting an ASP project but the process hangs after some brief activity and the only way out is to kill VS. I've got IIS installed locally and it's able to serve pages as "localhost".

What's the standard way of dealing with different web.config files/options based on Release or Debug builds? It's too bad there wasn't another level beyond web.config (like release.config, debug.config) that could override application level settings based on release-type settings.
