I want to do a find in files in my vc project,
and the search criteria is any string (enclosed
withinin " " characters which is having an 'i' character
within the string...

I cannot connect to SQL Server from Server Explorer.
Server shows but brings up a login box - enter login
information but it says it cannot find a procedure.

I am working through the excellent Mastering ASP.NET with C# by Jones.
On page 382 he refers to a section of Web.Config that he expects to already
exist called "AppSettings" which can be referred to by the AppSettings
method. It does not appear in my Web.config.  Should I add it or ...

I'm doing regular C++ development with VC6 and have no pressing need to
run on the dotNet framework.
Can anyone offer compelling reasons to switch to Visual C++.net or
Visual Studio.net that would justify the cost.  We have a tight budget

I know when I took my SQL Server exam, I never would have
passed the test had I just read Microsoft's MCSE Training
Kit for 70-229.
I want to pass 70-305 and have a training kit for that.  

I wanted to know what the easiest way was to clear items
from the projects list in VS.NET 2k3?

To be precise, from the Event Viewer :-
"Application popup: vcspawn.exe - Application Error : The application
failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the

I have a VB5 project that utilizes a ListView control.  Looking at the
control's properties, I see there are a number of icons on the ImageList
tab.  Of coures, the project I have does not include any .ico or .bmp files.
Where are these icons stored within the project?

I've been struggling with this for quite a while now and
it driving me up the wall.  Every time I press enter in
the IDE I wait for 10-30 seconds before I can process
again!!!  Here's the problem:

Can VS Editor do a Search/Replace on white-space characters such as TAB,
CRLF, i.e.?

Does anyone know how to retrieve the MAC address of the
computer being worked on through .NET (c#)? So far, I can
retrieve the IP address using the System.Net.IPAddress

1. I would like to know what is the difference between the Windows
environment variable agains the directories found in vc++ ide?
2. Is the enviroment variable use for command prompt only like compilation
