I just ruled out ZoneAlarm being the problem. (I shut it down and tried checking for updates.) However, even so, all attempts by VSUpdate to check for updates fail. Is there a problem on the Microsoft side or is it a problem on my machine?

The first time I start a debug session, using the Pocket PC emulator in Visual Studio .NET 2003, the deployment of my application to the emulator fails with the error message: "Failed copying..." followed by "Error: The operation could not be completed".
