I'm using an application built on windows forms which I downloaded from the
web.  When I installed it, it placed an "Application Reference" on my
startbar.  From what I can tell this is similar to a shortcut.  I can open
it with my network cable unplugged so I know it's not only ...

In the past, the MSDN Managed Newsgroups were a big help.  The feedback from
the general community and MVPs was great.  Where did everyone go?

Does anyone know whether Genuine Channels is still actively
maintained? They are not answering postings in their support forums or
even by mail, and the last release was made in february last year even
if they had promised to make a new one in september.

'm trying to get an app to run on logon as the shell.  We have our
app run as a kiosk by replacing the shell key value in HKCU\Software
\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Shell

we are using ClickOnce tech for the client, if there is a new version on the
server, the client will prompt to install new version, if we install, it
works fine, but if we choose skip, the client will never run any more,
telling me that could not start app.

I'm developing like ERP system. Have single central server for database and
file sharing.
About security issue. I encrypt application.config file when deploy to each
client, so they can't see database connection and other setting.
