I have a windows form application that works great on nearly all the
machine we have tested it on. We just got a new machine. When I run the
application on that machine, all the static test labels in my dialogs
are blank. I also have a message box that is showing up with no text in
it. It seems like for some reason the text is transparent, as when I
change the length of the text shown in the message box the size of the
message box changes. I also tried changing the text background color,
which didn't cause the text to show up. The app works fine if I copy
the version compiled on the bad machine to my normal desktop machine. I
am using .NET 1.1 with Visual Studio 2003. Both machines are set to the
same locale (en-us).

Typically this symptom is caused by a McAfee VirusScan problem that NAI is
aware of and that can be fixed by installing a patch:

Patch 5 for McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0i

Thanks, that fixed the problem.
