I have made a little app that accepts drag and drop from all sources but when
I drop a Outlook Email the FileContents is always null.

Is there any Microsoft documentation on how to correctly access the .msg
using drag and drop from outlook?

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your posting!

Actually, this is a frequently asking problem. Generally, the answer is
impossible. Because the format of the .MSG file content is not documented,
when draging, the clipboard can not parse the content of the .MSG file.

For more detailed information, please check the thread below(take care of
the line-break):

So the only possible resolution for this issue is using Outlook Automation,
Outlook object model references can be found on MSDN:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/vbaol11/html/olconAutomatingOutlookF
romVisualBasicApplication.asp

If you have further more question on Outlook Object Model Automation, I
suggest you post the issue in Office development newsgroup, you will get
more help there.

concerns, please feel free to post it in the group. I am standing by to be
of assistance.
