DHTML Edit Control Broken by SP2?

I have been trying to run a couple of C# apps that use the DHTML Edit
Control and I keep getting an error that 'an internal consistency check
failed'.

This is VS.NET 2003 on XP Pro SP2.

Does anybody know if SP2 has broken this control? I can't think of any
other changes to the machine.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your posting!

Which type of C# application do you use the DHtml Edit control? I have
created a sample empty winform application, then I  add the DHtml Edit
control as the following steps:
Right-click the toolbox -> "Add/Remove Elements..." -> "COM Controls" ->
"DHTML Edit Control for IE5".

After adding the DHtml Edit control, I load the html to the control with
the code:
private void Form1_Load(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
{
    this.axDHTMLEdit1.LoadURL("http://msdn.microsoft.com");
}

After running the application, the Dhtml Edit control works well with fully
editable function.

Also, my test machine is WinXP SP2 installed, VS.net 2003.

So it seems that it is not a general problem with SP2. Hope to get more
information from you to reproduce out your issue.

Hi Jeffrey

It's a small app to read htm(l) files that I've saved.

I did the same as you, and it connected to MS fine so I went back to
loading a file and it failed. I re-tried a different file and it was
fine.

It's the file that is the problem :-(

It's a page saved from MSDn about app.config files and I use it as a
test because it starts with 'A' and is always at the top of the file
list.

Thanks for your reply, I'll have to learn HTML and try and repair the
file :-)
