how VB.NET to generate excel report(office 2003)
what component i need to reference into the asp.net application

and the application will distribute to the client , does it free?

Try to use Visual Studio Tools for Office , it comes with a handler in the
deployment but it needs Office 2003 I reckon to work on the client side.
