DataGrid question

I am just trying to figure out what Microsoft thinks is orthodox with regard
to getting totals in a datagrid.  That is, let's say I have a datagrid with
an amount column in it and at the bottom of the grid I want a total for the
Amount column.  Is the datagrid designed in such a way as to provide a total
column or field by some magic or do I need to add a text field below the
grid that contains an expression that totals the Amount field of the grid.
What is considered orthodox?  Which way is best or is there only one way?

With the new DataGridView in VS 2005 will it behave the same way in this
regard or will there be something new that allows for easy totals like in a
spreadsheet?

Anyone?

Hard to understand why I have not received an answer to the question below.
It seems a reasonable question and I have asked it as intiligently as I know
how.
