Hi,

I have a background image I'm using as a form within my report.  the problem
is that I needed to reduce the resolution of the image to 96 dpi in order to
work with it and line things up within the ssrs/vs2005 report editor.
However because the image is only 96 dpi, it looks awful when I go to print.
Is there a way I can make it use a different higher resolution version of
this image for printing.. or what would someone suggest I do in order to get
around this problem..

Thanks,

You might just want to create a second report, the primary one for
viewing purposes and the second one just for printing purposes. That
way you could have the image resolution unique and satisfactory to
both cases. Hope this helps.

Hi,  thank you for your reply,  how do I go about using the second image for
printing..  if I use and then try to print from print preview it only prints
1/3 the width of the form..  What resolution should I be using...  I guess
I'm confused at how I would make use of a 300 dpi image and still make it
work..

thanks,

I received your email. If you create 2 separate reports only different
by image size, then you might need to do trial and error for the image
dimensions for the printable report version. Otherwise, if you need to
control image resolution to a higher degree and exporting to PDF is an
acceptable option, you might want to utilize an open source library
for the printable report option that I use from time to time (http://
sourceforge.net/projects/itextsharp/ and an example:
http://itextsharp.sourceforge.net/tutorial/ch06.html ). Hope this
helps.

Hi,
Can iTextSharp support page background image ?
I read the book "iText in Action", but it doesn't mention anything about
background image.

Thanks.
