After I changed the color of a ToolStrip Control from "control" to a custom
color - anything will do even "controldarkdark", the look of the control is
2D flat. If you choose Edit->Undo, or manually select backcolor "control"
then it goes back to 3D office look.
But, if you change the color like I did and then save the project and close
it -- I can never get it appear to look 3D with the gradient even if I
change the backcolor to "control" , even though I have VisualStyles = true.
I even tried ToolStripManager and ToolStripRender.
This ToolStrip took forever to name each button and event - I don't want to
have to drag and drop again.
Any ideas of what I can do to fix this?

Go to the designer and delete the line where the BackColor property of the
toolbar is set ("Windows Form Designer generated code" section.
Don't know the reason for this but it looks like this is the only way to get
that ugly blue 3d look back on the toolbar.
