Really need a little help - VS2005 slow start

Folks, I could really use some help--no responses to my earlier inquiry.

VS2005 is taking a minute or more every time I start it, access
Tools.Options, or shut it down. VS2008 works fine on the same Vista SP1
machine.

Logs show that the delay is occurring when loading msenvui.dll. The apparent
cause is that VS is attempting to access a network drive that no longer
exists. I can't find any reason why it is doing this. There are no obvious
references to the drive in Tools.Options or in my .vssettings file. The
network access is not associated with a project or solution because it
happens even if I start VS without one.

This is costing me a LOT of time. Does anyone have any ideas on what could
be causing this or what I can do to diagnose or fix it?

TIA,
ChrisD

What about entries in your recent Projects/Solutions list on the homepage?

Good idea, but no.  None of the listed projects reference the missing drive.
