God what an absolute nightmare installation procedure to get Visula
Studio Express and SQL Server Express up and running!@#$
Why the hell would Microsoft package the Visual Studio shell (which
there is no mention of anywhere) with the SQL Server Tools, and not
provide it as a stand alone download in same section with the other
Visual Studio products. They have buried it within the SQL Server
Express Advances Toolkit download and call it "Business Intelligence
Development Studio".
Why cant they be consistent with their terminology.
So far I've downloaded and install the following:
-SQL Server 2005 Express with advanced services
-SQL Server 2005 Express Toolkit
-Visual Basic 2005 Express
-Visual Basic 2005 Express SP1
I now have SQL Server and the Management Studio working
I have a separate menu for Visual Studio and can open Visual Studio,
and create a project and new report in it, but not a form.
I have a separate menu for Visual Basic and can open the Visual Basic
design app and create a new project and create a forms etc.
But I am expecting to create forms and vb code from within Visual
Studio. Why isnt Visual Basic 2005 integrated into Visual Studio
2005???
Am I missing something here?????
Cheers
