I'm trying to figure out which version of VS 2005 is right for me.  It looks
like Pro is the right one, although the MS site says it doesn't support
Office development (http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/products/compare/).
But then the same site also states that Pro can be used to create
office-based solutions (http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/products/).  I
need to be able to integrate Office into my applications.  Any ideas on what
the real difference is between the office development support in Visual
Studio Professional Edition vs. Visual Studio Tools for Office?

If you want the full blown Office dev experience, get both VSTO and either
Standard, Pro or Team.

I have a bit more here:

And will blog more in the future (after I am through investigating the
products).
