My system is DELL Inspiron I9300. Processor 2GHz and RAM 2 GB.
OS Window XP Professional Version 2002, Service Pack 2.

I have Visual Studio 6 installed and it runs fine on this machine. Recently
I installed Visual Studio .Net 2003 Professional. Installation was fine
without any complaints. But now whenever I try to use the IDE, it crashes
after a few seconds. It can open up the solution files fine. I try to modify
the files, it crashes. I try to create a new project it crashes.

I am getting very frustrated. Can anyone please help me understand why this
occurs. The same version of the software works perfectly fine on my desktop
with windows 2000 OS.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I get the usual dialog box stating:
"Microsoft Development Environment has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience".

I checked the data in the error report. but cant copy and paste.

Any help would be great. I am still tryng to cope with VStudio 6 for now.

Regards
Shamim
