possible to update to visual studio 2003 from 2002?

hi,
i just had a quick question, we currently are using visual studio 2002
at college, and i'm interested in working with compact framework and
looking into j#, which i believe are part of 2003, is 2003 an update
or a completely separate product? if i have 2002 can i just update it
to 2003? if so could someone please point me where.

It is a separate product which installs side-by-side w/ 2002. You can
upgrade from 2002 for $29 until Sept. 30:
