I archive a VSS project with Archive Wizard, it has reached step 4/5: Verify archive. The ssa file size=47701KB and has not grown any more for the last 3 hrs
I check the Task Manager and the status is Visual Source Safe Administrator -> Not Responding
Can I do an End Task without damaging the database

Thanks for your assistance

Hana, I've had the same problem where GUI would freeze on the restore or archive and you have to issue a kill to stop it.  I'm running Windows 2003 with VSS V6.0a & tried V6.0c.  I've got a Windows NT machine that has a single processor (500mhz) and it can run the restore or archive faster than the Windows 2003 box with dual 600mhz processors.  The databases are 1.2 Gb in size and running analyze doesn't show any corruption.  Does anyone know if the Windows 2003 os install defaults items that would slow the performance of VSS GUI or is there a conflict with os & VSS 6.0a/c
thanks.  Joe

You might do well to contact Microsoft about this. Maybe the security
changes in Windows 2003 are causing some of the problems.
