Our developers use VSS for updating software
documentation. We want to automatically publish latest
versions of the documents.
Using a document management of say sharepoint requires
taking the docs and republishing them. Is there a way docs
in VSS can be automatically linked and published in
Sharepoint
Thanks
Hari

You could use shadow folder. Contents of the shadowed folder is
automatically updated when new changes checked in into the project. This way
you can have links made to the documents in shadowed folder.

To create a shadow folder

1.. On the VSS Administrator Tools menu, click Options to display the
SourceSafe Options dialog box.
2.. Click the Shadow Folders tab.
3.. In the Set Shadow Folder for Project box, enter the name of the
project to shadow, or click Browse to search for a project from the VSS
project list.
4.. In the Set Shadow Folder To box, type the name of the folder to be
used as a shadow folder, or click Browse to search for a folder.
Security Note   It is recommended that you create a shadow folder on a
different share from the VSS database so that Windows users with read-only
access to the shadow folder do not have any access permissions for the share
that contains the database.
5.. Click OK and wait while the folder is built.
6.. Quit the Administrator program and tell all your users to close and
restart VSS Explorer for the change to take effect.
Note   When you delete a file or project from a VSS project, that file or
project is not deleted from the shadow folder.
