"apply to all items"

Hi,
VSS has several messages (e.g. "the directory contains a writable version
of the file...") which have the "apply to all items".
How far does this checkbox go ? All items in the current directory ?
All items in the current action ?
All similar items in future actions ?

It should apply to all items for that particular operation.
