Hi, I have a problem and I don't know how to solve... We actually work with
Visual Sourcesafe 6.0 and we want to "migrate" to Visual Sourcesafe 2005
(8.0) to use the "Copy-Modify-Merge Model".

It's suppose that, when you install a new version of VSS it upgrades the
database to the new version, but this is not happening to me... OK, no
problem, i run the DDCONV.EXE command, like this:

"ddconv -m c:\sourcesafe\ c:\sourcesafe\data"

But it crashes: "DDCONV has finished processing. Error were detected while
processing. Details may be found in file c:\sourcesafe\ddcerr.log"

If I run "ddconv c:\sourcesafe\data" it does not crash but nothing
happens...

If I run "ddupd c:\sourcesafe\data" it says "Database is already at
requested configuration"

I don't know what to do...

Thanks in advance!

Hi PeTrUs,

The database format does not change so it's not necessary to update
the database format.

To upgrade to VSS 2005, you'll need to uninstall VSS 6 and then
install VSS 2005. That's all.
