I have found myself frequently wanting to search for particular comments in
a checkin - particularly to find all the files that were checked in at the
same time with the same comment.  I've made some simple tools to help with
this.  You can export the project and file revision history to XML, then
search it.  I'm releasing it as open source if anyone is interested.
