installing a new server

Hello,

I am installing a new server for sourcesafe.
I wanted to install the software on the new server, and then just copy the
excisting
database (folder and subfolder) to the new server.

Is this good practice, or is there a another way to do it.

That works fine. You need the Data directory, the Users directory, the
users.txt file, the srcsafe.ini file, and the Template directory, which you
probably already have. Moving the whole directory tree is probably OK, too.
