I have recently installed VStudio 6.0 with service pack 5 onto a
Windows 2000 Sp4 machine. Each of the development applications work in
isolation without any problems, but VSS and the development
environments (especially VB & VC++) do not have any link .ie. there is
no "Use Source Control" type menu options, also when you start to edit
a file no warnings or dialog boxes asking if you wish to check out the
file appear.
I have tried removing VStudio from the machine and reinstalling it but
this has not corrected the problem. Does anyone know what is wrong,
and more importantly how I can fix it?

Try reinstalling VSS. Try running ssint.exe in the VSS\Win32 directory.

Thanks for that. I thought I would try running ssint.exe before
reinstalling vstudio and sourcesafe again, and it worked.
Great thanks
