Hello,

I'm runnig WinXP (w/o SP1) and AFAIK there is no MS Virtual Machine for JAVA
installed. That's also why the Setup of Visual Studio 6.0 wants to
update/install this.
But I see no reason why it should do that, because I already have the Sun
JRE installed, so the question is:
is there any chance to install MS Visual Studio w/o having to update the MS
Virtual Machine for JAVA?
Registry Hacks, patches etc...

I too had the same issue, but was able to download the JVM from the
following link to resolve my issue.

http://www.fairviewfire.com/Library/download.htm

or

http://java.sun.com/downloads/

At the moment, I cannot see how it would help downloading the JVM! I asked
how NOT to install the JVM, why do you suggest do download it?! Have I
missed something here?

I do not believe there is a way around installing the JVM.

You could also install the JVM from a file on the CD called MSJavx86.Exe.
