VS 2005 RC SQL Express Will Not Install

I visited the VS2005 RC page and followed the link to uninstall all the
previous versions. I rebooted then installed VS2005 RC including SQL Express
that was included in the release. However it failed to install the error is
"[09/24/05,19:13:04] VS70pgui: [2] DepCheck indicates Microsoft SQL Server
2005 Express Edition x86 is not installed.
[09/24/05,19:31:50] Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition x86: [2]
Component Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition x86 returned an
unexpected value."

After the initial install I rebooted and tried updating the install with SQL
Express again, still fails with the same error.

Software: XP Pro SP2 + Updates
Hardware: AMD x64, 2gb Ram

Any help will be appreciated.

Hello,
From the error, it is a failure in SQL server 2005 installation. If we fails to install SQL server, there will be an error log indicate what happens. And this need to involve SQL
engineer to dig out the reason, so I suggest you post to
http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?icp=sqlserver2005&slcid=
us&NewsGroup=microsoft.private.sqlserver2005.express
for proper assist.

Just clear all registry entries that contain
{2750B389-A2D2-4953-99CA-27C1F2A8E6FD}
