I bought Visual Studio .net 2003 Academic last fall and promptly
installed it and registered/activated it with Microsoft. I recently
reformated my hard drive and did a clean install of Win XP, but it did
not occur to me to retrieve my product code before doing this as I
didn't think I had been so stupid as to have thrown out the box with
the product key code on it. I've searched everywhere and cannot find
the box. I have all my original discs, the resources kit, and my EULA,
but the box is gone.

Am I totally out of luck? Is there a way to contact Microsoft and get
this information from them? I don't normally lose things, but my life
was nutty crazy last fall, with grad school, part-time work, and being
a mom, and I think my brain just became full and I did stupid things.

Thanks,
Lee

OK, I phoned 1-800-Microsoft and a very pleasant customer support tech
in India sold me a new key code for $10.00.
