Visual Studio 6.0 Installation Keeps Hanging!

I'm hoping someone more experienced can help me.

I've tried to install a copy of Visual Studio 6.0 that my community college
loaned me. However, every time it starts to install, the progress box on the
lower-right corner always stops at 5%, and shows the file it was working on
as "MSJET35.DLL".

I am running Windows XP with SP2. I am using the Admin account for the
computer (the only profile available). I did try emptying out the
%System%/Temp folder, turning off McAfee SecurityCenter and disabling McAfee
Desktop Firewall, but it still "hangs" at that file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Can you see anything in the event logs?

Is it trying to say the CD-ROM is bad? Because it's almost done installing
on my laptop. Hopefully, you can read from this.

Maybe you can try to copy all the files to your harddrive first and run the
installation from there.
