Hello,

When I tried to install VS6.0 on a XP machine, I received the following
warnings. what is the cause of this warning? The only software that preexists
on this machine I can see from Control Panel is Visual SourceSafe 6.0. Is it
okay to procedd by ignoring the warnings? Thanks!

"The Installlation Wizard has detected a potentially conflicting version of
a Visual Studio 6.0 product on your machine. One or both products may not
work after installing this product. the Readme topic "Side by Side Product
Installations" describes the supported combinations. Do you want to continue?"

If I ignore the warnging and click Yes, it prompts with another warning saying

"Installing this combination of products may break your existing version of
one or more Visual Studio 6.0 products. Are you sure you want to continue?"

Thanks,
New user

The Visual SourceSafe product is part of the Visual Studio package.  You
should be ok in installing, just choose custom, and do not install the
Visual SourceSafe option.
