I came across this error when I tried to install VS 8.0 beta 1 setup by first
removing Whidbey beta 2. The error is "could not write to a file
CRVsPackageLib.dll, verify that you have access to that directory" & further
does not completes the installation.

I fear that I need to format disk & reinstall everything again.

Being the fact that it is beta software, yes, I would agree that you should
format the disk.  However, if you can forward the verbose log found in the
%temp% folder that would be wonderful.

Start > Run and type %temp% and then click Ok
Locate the text file beginning with vsmsilog.

Cheers,
