I am trying to install VS 6.0 on a Win2K machine with the latest updates.
Setup hangs at the point where it says ""setup is searching for installed
components".  I am forced to CTRL-ALT-DEL to shut down setup.  I have removed
everything VS, VS.NET, and MSDN related from the computer.  I have done the
manual uninstall to ensure everything is gone, wiping all the registry
entries and so on.  I have tried installing in safe mode and installing from
the hard drive.  I cannot get past this point in the setup process.  I would
very much appreciate any help.

I am still trying to get this resolved.  Here is the log file generated by
the command line setup suggested in article Q192392.  It seems to be
hanging at the line: Object 3 - VssAppSrch - called
