About three quarters of the way through the installation of Visual Studio
2005 Beta 2 I am receiving a popup window with the error:

Error 1304.Error writing to file: Microsoft.VisualStudio.Windows.Forms.dll.
Verify that you have access to that directory.

I am logged in as Administrator and I did ave the express edition previously
installed but I believe I have un-installed it and the SQL 2005 Beta that
came with it.

I have looked for similar posts but have not found any like it. Anybody else
have this problem and is there a procedure to resolve the issue.

Well I guess I have to reply to my own posts. Anyway, I discovered that I did
not remove the .NET 2.0 from the express version before attempting to install
the beta2. After this was removed I was able to complete the install. However
I am having several other problems which I will post in the appropriate area.

Hi,
I had the same problem but when I went to  Add/Remove Programs and
clicked on .Net 2.0 Beta it said it was already removed would I like to
remove the item from the List.

I clicked Yes and it went way from the Add/Revome programs list but I kept
repeatedly getting the 1304 error.

After a little searching I found that it was still installed, but with out any
more Add/Remove program listing   how do you remove it?

Here is how.

search for    *.msi    files   under     %SystemRoot%\microsoft.NET
%SystemRoot% on my system was c:\windows

Click Right on the MSI  file and  select UNINSTALL.

I got a couple POP UP BOXES about Error messages not being available,    I
just clicked cancel and  the uninstalled completed properly.

You might have to uninstall the J++ redistributable package the same way,
but that is under the same directory structure.
