Hi everyone,
I had to reinstall Visual C++6 on a box with XP SP2.
Unfortunately, even after several retries, MSDN context sensitive help
doesnt work any more. VC6 complains about a missing component (htmlhelp???).
VC++ and MSDN for themselves work ok, but they don't integrate any more.

Regards

Ike

Ike,

What version of MSDN do you have installed?

Keep in mind, that Context Sensitive Help for VS6 products works with
October 2001 and earlier.

Hi Tim,

I know - due to legacy stuff I have to work with.

Its the said 2001 version.
It worked well until I de-installed VC6 a few days ago, installed XP's SP2
due to security reasons and re-ínstalled VC6 today... bang:

btw: The context help doesn't work in VC6 AND Visual C++ 4.0 for CE either.

Both products NOW complain that "a component ist missing, please
re-install...", but installing doesn't help (of course!)

I suspect something like htmlhelp is missing...but what...?

Regards

Ike

Ok.  If that is the October 2001 version and you are still having problems
with the context sensitive help then try registering the vshelp.dll.  You
will need to search for it on your drive.
