VC++4.0 emulators do not work

Hi,
sorry to post here, but the "mobile" threads are gone.....

After installation of VC++4.0 plus the sdk's under XP SP2, the emulators
don't work.

The hint in the help page says to disable /pae in boot.ini.

But, surprise, there is no /pae switch in boot.ini - and the emulators can't
be revived...

What's wrong?

I'm going to try and disable DEP and PAE using the switches in that
article, hopefully that will work.
