I am trying to install VS .NET 2003 Enterprise Architect on a Windows 2003
Server Enterprise Edition.  It has 8 GB of memory (witn /PAE in the
boot.ini) and 4 Xeon processors.  I can't get by the initial requirements
pass.  It has installed fine on several other computers using XP Pro with
<2G of memory.

But with my 2003 machine I get the following errors:

WECCOM.MSI

Internal Error 2203
D:\WINDOWS\INSTALLER\48a1802.ipi -2147287035
==================================================

BOOTSTRAP.MSI

Internal Error 2203
D:\WINDOWS\INSTALLER\48a1808.ipi -2147287035
==================================================

VJREDIST.EXE

Internal Error 2203
D:\WINDOWS\INSTALLER\48a180a.ipi -2147287035

Any suggestions?  Is there some incompatibility with PAE or 2003?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Marc,

Thank you for your posting.

Based on my past experience, the ".IPI" is a temp file. To solve the
problem, I would suggest that you first clean your Temp Folder. To do this,
you may follow the steps below.

a. Click "Start" => Click "Run" => Type "%Temp%" in the open blank.
b. Press CTRL+A to select the contents of the folder.
c. Press DELETE.
Note: If you cannot delete all the selected files, delete as many of these
files as you can.
e. Close this window.

And "-2147287035" is a permissions error return. To solve this, please
reset the permissions on "%windir%\installer" and "%temp%".

As well, I would like to inform you that sometimes third-party software
applications will cause installation problems, especially the Anti-Virus
software. I hope that you could try to make a clean boot before installing
Visual Studio .NET 2003 Enterprise Architect. You may refer to the
following link to perform a clean boot.

Please try my suggestion and let me know the results at your earliest
convenience. Should you have any concerns regarding the issue, please feel
free to let me know.
