I'm trying to install my Visual Studio 6.0 on XP-Home... wants me to install java update... 1#- Does VS6 have newer java than XP-Home? 2#- Can this be done without creating problems with XP? 3#- I read in these newsGroups a program to take cake of this problem... is it necessary & if so where can I get it ? Do you have the problem, that Visual Studio setup just keeps on rebooting, when installing? Updating Java Virtual Machine -> reboot -> Updating Java Virtual Machine etc. If so, I got help to similar problem, though havent tried it yet (see my thread "Installation problem: VS6, MS Java Virtual Machine update"19.8.2004). Matt, The fix is actually a Microsoft internal fix, that I have available. If you send me an email directly by dropping the online in my email, I will be happy to send the fix.
