When I try to compile a project located on another machine in VC++ v7.1 it
compiles perfectly when the compiling machine is running Windows Server
2003. However, if the compiling machine is running XP Home I get the errors
shown below. Any idea what the problem is:

Creating temporary file

Have you found a solution yet?  I am having the same problem....
Thanks!

I'm having a similar problem.  Project builds fine on my laptop, exact same project failes with D2022 cannot open 'd:\somediretory\RSP000005.rsp'

So count me in on the "Have you found a solution yet" bandwagon.
Thanks as well!

After much ado, I reinstall/repaired DevStudio.Net 2003, and voila, problem disappeared.  One thing I had done recently was to install the internet (ASP) version of .Net (SDK etc.)  I suppose this may have introduced an ordering of install issue.

Hope this helps..

I appeared to be that I had copied over certain intermediate files and they
were marked as read-only.
