Hi,

I have been trying for the last few days installing Web Parts Template
for VS.NET 2003 (as I wouldlike to create my own web parts for
Sharepoint) and after unzipping Microsoft's package and clicking
"setup.exe" I get a message that "You must have Visual Studio.NET
installed first"!! Which I do.

My PC is running on XP Pro, but I have access to other machines on the
network running Win 2003. .NET version is 1.1 and VS is 2003.

I am getting quite frustrated as there is no info on this subject. I
would greatly appreciate your help.

Stephen,

In reviewing the MSI, it appears that it is looking for the following
registry keys:

   HKLM\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\7.0\Registration
   HKLM\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\7.1\Registration
   HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\7.1\Setup\VS
   HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\7.0\Setup\VS

Check the registry and see if you have the following registry keys.  If you
do not, I would recommend a repair of the Microsoft Visual Studio .Net
product in order to correct the issue.

Cheers,
