My Visual Studio .NET 2003 Enterprise Architect Edition has been running
well for quite some time on Windows 2000.  All of a sudden after installing
a new Clear Zones Firewall I began having problems.  Programs would hang
after starting in debug mode.  My first thought was some kind of virus so I
tried to do a repair install.  That hung as well.  Now I can uninstall
either.  I uinstalled the Norton Virus program and the Clear Zones Firewall
Program.  The uninstall and repair operations still hang.  What can I do now
to get it working again.  Any insight into the problem would be greatly
appreciated.  Thanks for your help.

Best Regards,

Paul,

If you are on Windows XP, you can use msconfig.exe to stop all services and
reboot the machine.  You should then be able to execute the repair
installation of the Microsoft Visual Studio .Net product.

The Firewall and Anti-Virus products now have a script blocking feature.
This feature can cause difficulty in debugging, launching and/or installing
the Microsoft Visual Studio .Net product.  It is recommended that you work
with these companies to configure it to allow Visual Studio .Net.

Cheers,
