Ben,
This is a great question. We have seen issues like this, and normally have
resolved them through a simple repair of the MSDN Library. You can try the
following:
1. Repair the MSDN Library
2. Reinstall through Add/Remove Features and ensure that all is checked
3. Uninstall and then Install again, and making sure that every item is
checked.

Thanks Tim,
I had a look and the add/remote features and most of the library was
configured to run from CD (well duh!). I feel pretty stupid not checking
that but I don't remember having to change that on my old machine which is
why I didn't.
Anyway, it's all good now.
