Hello,
When I try to install Visual Studio 2003 on my Windows XP Professional
on a Windows 2003 Small Business Server Domain I get several errors. The
prerequisites want me to install Front Page 2000 Server extensions. I did
and it still wants me to install it. I bypass that and it wants to install
the Setup Runtime files and Visual J# Redistributable files. I tell it to go
ahead and it says installing, but it just hangs there and will not install.
I have to go into Task Manager to close the setup programs. Then I am back
to square one. Can anyone help me? Thank you.

Mark,

A lot of times, I use msconfig.exe to shut down other servies and diconnect
from the internet to ensure that no other 3rd party apps are getting in the
way of the installation.

You can also enable logging and run the installations from the
command-line.

    Setup Runtime Files = bootstrap.msi
    Visual J# Redistributable = JSharpRedistCore\vjredist.exe

Enable Verbose Logging:

    Add the following regkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
                    "Logging" "voicewarmup!"

                         without the quotes.

I will be happy to help you review the verbose logs.

Cheers,
