Hello,

I try to install Visual Studio and I get an error 25003
all the time.
I checked Microsoft website and followed all the
procedures for removing renaming, etc to fix the problem
but it still doesn't work.
I installed it once before, but since reformatting my HDD
and running XP Pro., it doesn't want to install.
I have the original disks and the serial for it so it is
legitimate copy.

Hi Paul -

Tips for How to Troubleshoot Installation Error 25003

-----------------------------------------------------

The following are various methods to resolve this problem:

- Make sure that the installation media that you are using (such as CD-ROM)

is not corrupted.

For additional information, click the following article number to view the
article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Studio Product Disks

- Make sure that the other programs that are installed on your computer
(such as antivirus programs) are

not causing any problems. If an antivirus

program is running while Visual Studio .NET Setup or the Microsoft .NET
Framework Setup is running, the

installation may fail.

For additional information, click the following article number to view the
article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

KBLink:330733.KB.[LN]: PRB: Visual Studio .NET 2003 Setup May Fail When

Antivirus or Firewall Program Is Running

- If you are installing Visual Studio .NET from a CD-ROM, copy the

contents of the CD-ROM to your hard disk, and then start the

installation from the hard disk.

- If you have more than one CD-ROM drive, try to start the installation

of Visual Studio .NET from a different CD-ROM drive.

- Make sure that the CD-ROM drive can read the data correctly from the

installation CD-ROM.

- If you try to run Setup from a shared

CD-ROM drive over a network to other computers, the installation may fail.

Copy the setup files to a hard disk, and then run Setup from the hard disk

over the network.
